THE ADVANTAGES OF RECOVERY IN A SMALL COMMUNITY
Malibu Beach Recovery Center is a safe haven for clients with concerns pertaining to their anonymity. Insuring that our clients remain anonymous is one of our biggest priorities. Client anonymity is part of the basis of our very foundation. We believe that who our clients want to share their recovery with is their prerogative. This is because not enough personal privacy in early recovery can become cause for stress, discomfort and discouragement.
At Malibu Beach Recovery Center our counselor-client ratio varies between 1 and 3 and 1 and 6. Having 3 to 6 clients and 1 to 2 counselors on sight at a time, allows for a great deal of intimacy and personal growth.
Because of our intimate environment our clients are able to receive the hands on attention they need. Our program is set up in such a way, that each one of our clients receives a certain level of individual attention. This is the basis for much of our ground work and progress. Our groups are smaller, which allows more opportunities for clients to open up, clients are better fit to form bonds of their own, and this also allows therapists and counselors to get to know each client on an individual basis to better serve their needs.
The relationships between our clients, alumni and staff at Malibu Beach Recovery Center are often compared to those of a family. We have an alumni group once a week that allows clients who have completed our program, an opportunity to share their experience strength and hope with our newer clients. Our experience has shown this to be nothing short of a compelling demonstration of altruism. Our clients receive a message of hope from our alumni. There is an understanding between our clients and our alumni, that with willingness, things can progress and ultimately get better.
It is no mystery as to why our clients develop a sense of camaraderie with one another. They will continue to learn and grow together and take personal cues from one another. If there is anything on which we place great value it is our ability and opportunity to bring people together. We do not hold this at face value, for we know the importance of a close knit recovery circle. As long as we stick together, our common bond and purpose is easily executed and achieved.
