WE ARE NOW THE MALIBU BEACH RECOVERY CENTER
Malibu, California -- The Marshak Clinic, which opened its US doors in September 2007, became the Malibu Beach Recovery Center on Feburary 9, 2009, announced Joan Borsten, CEO. The name change reflects the growth of the center, added associations within the industry and a management restructure that includes additional investors. The cutting edge treatment program developed in Europe will remain essentially the same, enhanced by neuro-feedback sessions and without the DNA component. Dr. Yakov Marshak will continue as lecturer and consultant.
"2009 will be a very important year for us," said Executive Director Kathy Willis, who has spent the last 30 years working in the field of addiction. "I came out of retirement to work with Dr. Marshak and Joan Borsten because I was so impressed with what I saw happening here. We have refined the clinical program to make it more compatible with the needs of American clients.
The national media attention the Center has received includes the recent “Angelina” episode of "Intervention," A&E's highly rated reality show. The young heroin addict brought to the Marshak Clinic by interventionist Candy Finnegan completed the residential program in late December. CEO Borsten and her husband Oleg Vidov, President, who co-founded the Center, came from careers as entertainment industry executives to establish the Clinic, which continues to count Hollywood insiders among its investors. The Malibu Beach Recovery Center/Marshak Clinic is currently the only local high-end alcohol and drug rehabilitation program provider authorized for members of the Screen Actors Guild Health Plan.
