EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM
During the residential program at the Malibu Beach Recovery Center®, clients live in a protected drug-free environment where they are constantly motivated by our therapists to participate in the recovery program. After 30-90 days at the Malibu House, our clients have the tools to take care of their mood sustaining system based on the knowledge and skills acquired during the residential program. We encourage them to then spend at least two more months in an approved Transitional Living Program.
At a sober living or transitional living houses, our clients live in an environment where they learn to integrate their newly acquired life sustaining tools into their everyday life – with help from knowledgeable and supportive staff. Some houses are more “hands on” than others, but all are aimed to provide residents with a sober, stable home environment. The goal is to maintain sobriety while regaining the freedom and flexibility to structure their own days, and gradually adjust to living in a completely independent environment.
Whichever transitional living house, or sober living house, our clients chose, we encourage them to participate in a modified version of the MALIBU BEACH RECOVERY SYSTEM℠ Exercise Program; to learn to shop, cook, and eat in accordance with the principles of the healthy Malibu Beach Recovery Diet®; to continue taking the recommended food supplements, and to attend 12-Step meetings in the local community.
For those who cannot make this transition because of financial limitations, time, family or professional commitments, we offer a Malibu Beach Recovery Life Coach to help ease the transition to an independent life.
