Joan is a native of Los Angeles, California. She has a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.S. from the University of Southern California. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Panama.
Joan lived in Israel and Italy for 12 years, working as a journalist for both The Jerusalem Post and The Los Angeles Times. She returned to the United States and successfully ran several businesses in the fields of aviation and entertainment. A Malibu resident, she believes Malibu-- known for its temperate weather, clean air , spectacular vistas, and healthy life style -- is the perfect location for an alcohol drug and treatment center.
